When would I use the 'Yes/No' Invitation template?

Use the Yes/No template:

  • When you want to allow invitees to register and Accept or Decline attendance

What happens when one of these links is clicked?  Regardless of whether the pre-population setting is ON or OFF, clicking one of these

  • YES link:  the Registration page opens with the About You fields populated with the data included in the contact list that was uploaded, if any. The registrant fills in the form and then clicks the Submit button. Their status is set to the default status for this event.
  • NO link:  the Thank You for Registering (Confirmation) page opens, they have been added to your event's registrant list (along with any pre-populated information) and the confirmation email "Declined" message was sent. Their status is automatically set to Not Attending.

Pre-populating the registration page is an option - it is not automatic; you can turn it ON or OFF at any time.  It is a property of every Invitation Template; some invitation templates can have pre-populate ON, others can have it OFF. You can send the template with it ON and then send another version with it OFF.  You can set it or edit it on the message template itself.

When would I use the 'Register Here' Invitation?

Use the Register Here template:

  • When you do not need to know if anyone is declining your invitation
  • When you know that you will not need to have a "Not Attending" button on your registration page

What happens when this link is clicked?

  • If the email message template's pre-populate option is OFF, the Landing Page opens with no fields pre-populated
  • If the email message template's pre-populate option is ON, then the Landing Page opens with the email already filled in - Continuing to the Registration Page will open with the About Fields already filled in with the pre-populated information
